Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (NKJV)

We live in a society that loves everything! We love tacos, movies, our kids, our spouses, our friends, our jobs, donuts, burgers, I could go on and on. The problem with using a word all the time is that it begins to lose its meaning. I think people have done that with “love”. If you use the same word to express your admiration for spaghetti and your spouse, the lines get blurred. I’m not trying to say you should never use “love” again. I’m just saying it’s good to remind yourself what the Bible says love is. Especially when things get difficult. Love isn’t a feeling that comes and goes it is a decision you make. Read that passage again. Remind yourself what love truly is and what love does.

Prayer:
Lord, help me to love the people in my life. Help me to love the people that are easy to love and the people that are difficult to love. God, help me to love others the way that you love them. In Jesus’ name, Amen
