Day 7/7: Love Conquers All

Love Conquers All:

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

Romans 8:37 (NKJV)

Have you ever watched a boxing match?
One day I saw one and at the end of the match the winner was holding a huge belt and a big check! Almost as quickly as the referee lifted the boxer’s arm, his wife hopped into the ring and grabbed the check!
In that moment I realized exactly what it looked like to be More than a Conqueror! This woman hadn’t fought for the prize but because of her relationship with the champion, she had every right to the prize!
That’s exactly the kind of access we have through Jesus Christ. We didn’t fight for it and we didn’t earn it, but because of our relationship with Jesus, we have access to the prize of God’s promises! You are more than a conqueror!

Declaration: Thank you, Jesus for the victory you have won for me! I know that in you I am more than a conqueror and I lay claim to the prize of God’s promises because I am a child of God!

Day 6/7: God is Big Enough

The God that made the stars…

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

Romans 8:31-32(NKJV)

Sometimes we get so focused on the things that are against us, that we forget about the God that is on our side.

It’s very easy to do because our problems are often tangible. We can see the doctor’s report, we can hold the bill. We can hear the crazy kid and the layoff notice. We can’t see God though.

In those times I look at God’s creation, something tangible, to remind myself of God’s power.

The God that created the sun, the moon, the stars, the trees and the flowers is on your side!

I know things may seem impossible right now but remind yourself that if God is big enough to create the earth you live on then He is big enough to take care of your problems!

Declaration: Thank you God for being on my side! I know that you are bigger than every problem and every circumstance in my life. No problem I face is bigger than my God!!

Day 5/7: Prayer of Faith

Praying with Faith:

Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

James 5:14-15(NKJV)

I remember the day I looked into my dad’s eyes and didn’t see my dad anymore. I saw a man that was fighting for his life.
My dad had been diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure and his heart was only putting out 24% of what it should have been putting out. Every day was a struggle for my dad. He struggled to breathe and had little to no energy. This was his life.
Then, one weekend at church, my grandpa felt like he was supposed to pray for my dad. He went to my dad, he laid hands on him, and he prayed.
My dad will tell you himself that he didn’t feel any different that day, but the next day he noticed that he wasn’t struggling to breathe any more. As the day progressed he noticed he had more energy. Little by little, day by day, my dad recovered completely.
Today my dad is completely and totally healed. What people said was impossible happened because we serve a God that still does miracles!

Declaration: The Bible says that “God is no respecter of persons” so if God healed one person I know He will heal me too! I declare healing over my body and my family in Jesus’ name!!

Day 4/7: Mindset

Mindset matters:

God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

Acts 10:38(NKJV)

Sometimes we don’t doubt that God still heals, but we doubt that God is willing to heal us.
For whatever reason, many believers think we just don’t deserve God’s healing because we haven’t been “good enough” we haven’t “read our Bible enough” or “prayed enough”.
These are things that cross our mind when we claim God’s promises over our life. The moment we start thinking that way we have moved into a works based mindset instead of a grace based mindset. A works based says, “I must do _blank_ to earn God’s promises.”
A grace based mindsets says, I don’t get to lay claim to God’s promises because of what I’ve done but because of what Jesus has done for me.
Which mindset is controlling you?

Declaration: Thank you Jesus for the price you paid for me on the cross. I can come boldly into God’s presence and lay claim to all of God’s promises not because of my goodness but because of your goodness. I refuse to live my life with a works based mindset and I choose to live my life accepting God’s grace!

Day 3/7: Psalm 91

No plague will come near your dwelling

No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.

Psalm 91:10-12(NKJV)

I love everything about Psalm 91. But I especially claim the ’No evil shall befall you, and no plague shall come near you” a lot. The reason I claim these promises is because all of God’s promises are “yes and amen” in Christ but they aren’t automatic.

My dad has a storage building full of tools that I can use at any time, as his son, but he isn’t bringing them to me. I have to go get them if I want them and when I need them.

We have to claim and declare God’s promises over our lives to remind ourselves and the devil what belongs to us as children of God.  As Christians we should lay claim to God’s promises in our lives! No matter what problem you have in your life, find a promise from God, and begin to declare it over your life!

Declaration: Thank you God that all of your promises are yes and amen in Christ Jesus! I declare that you are my healer, my restorer, my provider, my protector, and my salvation!

Day 2/7: Healing

(COVID-19) Does Jesus still heal?

who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.

1 Peter 2:24(NKJV)

In the bible we can read that Jesus went around healing people of their sicknesses. As a Pastor, I often get asked if Jesus still heals today. There are some pastors that say that healing power has passed away, but my answer is always the same: “YES! Jesus is still our healer!”

What I love about the scripture above is that it talks about what Jesus did for us on the cross. In the same verse that tells us that Jesus has forgiven us, it also tells us that Jesus has healed us. In fact there are lots of scriptures in the Bible that have forgiveness of sin and healing in the same sentence. So, if Jesus forgives us, which He does, then He also heals us.

I have seen people be miraculously healed right before my eyes, but I have also seen people believe for healing and not get better. Despite my experiences, though, we still believe that Jesus heals! I love what Pastor Bill Johnson says: “I will never lower the standard of the Bible to my level of experience.” Meaning that God’s Word always has the final say in our lives about what is true. And the word says that Jesus is our healer!

Declaration: I believe that Jesus paid for my sins and my healing on the cross. As a child of God I know that healing belongs to me and I declare that I am healed in the name of Jesus!!
