Day Fifteen – Peace

15/21 Days of Prayer & Fasting

READ:

John 14:27 (NKJV)

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Did you know that Jesus left you His peace? Sometimes I forget that I have access to this peace. I get worried, I start thinking about how to resolve things on my own, I completely stress out! But the truth is, I have access to peace that passes all understanding. What have you been worried about? What’s kept you up at night?

It’s time to reclaim peace to that situation.

That doesn’t mean you bury your head in the sand. It just means that you know that God can work all things out for your good.

PRAY:

Jesus, thank you for giving me peace in every situation and through every storm. I refuse to worry and I choose to remain in your peace. Amen.

Day Fourteen – Wisdom

14/21 Days of Prayer & Fasting

READ:

James 1:5 (NKJV)

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

I was recently asked a question by someone. “If you could have unlimited amounts of anything, what would it be?” I immediately responded with my answer, “wisdom”. Now, I’ll admit I stole this straight from King Solomon in the Bible, but it’s still is a good answer today. If you have wisdom in every situation you would lack nothing, ever. We all have made dumb mistakes that we look back on and think “man, I wish I would have done that differently.” Unfortunately, most of us go to the wrong place for wisdom in our life. We go to friends or even worse, Facebook. James tells us where we should go for the wisdom we are seeking and that’s straight to God. The Bible says God knows the end from the beginning. It also says that He knows the plans He has for you.

If you are needing wisdom in your life ask God to give you the wisdom to make the right decision.

PRAY:

God, thank you for giving me wisdom to make good decisions in my life. Give me wisdom in raising my kids, loving my spouse, in my friendships, at my workplace, and in every area of my life. I need you to lead me and I need you to guide me. Thank you for freely giving me your wisdom in all things. Amen.

Day Thirteen – Planted

13/21 Days of Prayer & Fasting

READ:

Psalm 1:3 (NKJV)

He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.

Every one of us want to have good fruit in our life. We for sure want everything we do to prosper. There is a key part of this verse though that a lot of people miss. It’s that for all of the stuff we want to happen, we must remain planted. This can be an extremely difficult part of our journey. We have a tendency to get frustrated and quit, to get angry and leave, to get offended and uproot ourselves.

Some of us wonder why we aren’t seeing the fruit we want to see in our lives and the truth is, we aren’t seeing the fruit because we haven’t stayed planted long enough.

Maybe you are thinking about quitting, leaving, throwing in the towel. Can I encourage you to stay planted? You will eventually see the fruit you want to see if you just stay planted in the process God has you in.

PRAY:

Jesus, give me strength to stay planted in the process. Help me to stay faithful and consistent in this season you’ve called me to. I know that you are faithful and I will see the fruit if I will just stay planted in your process and continue to do what You’ve asked me to do. Amen.

Day Twelve – Greater Things

12/21 Days of Prayer & Fasting

READ:

John 14:12 (NKJV)

Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.

This scripture always challenges me. When you read the miracles that Jesus did, it is a seriously impressive list! He turned water into wine, He fed an estimated 15,000 people with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish, He opened blind eyes, He made the deaf hear, and let’s not forget, He raised people from the dead!! In this scripture, Jesus says that we as Christians will do greater works than what He did! I believe the reason we don’t see miracles like this is because we disqualify ourselves. Most of us still believe God does miracles, but we just don’t think God can use us to be the catalyst for a miracle. We think of all the areas that we come up short and for some reason, we think miracle working power can only flow through perfect people. That’s just not the case.

All throughout the Bible, and to this day, God uses imperfect people to do extraordinary things!

God wants to use you to pray for people. He wants you to see miracles happen in your life and others around you. Sometimes I have people ask me, “what if I pray for them and they don’t get their miracle?” I learned a long time ago that the only thing I can do is pray and believe. The miracle part is completely up to God.

Greater works than these…

Let’s take the limits off of ourselves and off of our God!

PRAY:

Jesus, use me today to pray for someone in my life. Let me see miracles happen, not just in my life, but in my friends, family, and co-workers lives. Increase my faith to believe you for greater and greater things. Amen.

Day Eleven – One of a Kind

11/21 Days of Prayer & Fasting

READ:

2 Corinthians 10:12 (NIV)

We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise.

Comparison is one of the most dangerous traps anyone can fall into! Comparison is what caused Satan to fall from heaven. The Bible tells us that the devil compared himself to God. Cain compared himself to Abel and because he thought he didn’t measure up, he took it out on his brother. Comparison doesn’t stop there either. The list is too long to go into, but you’ll see comparison is at the root of a lot of people’s mistakes in the Bible. It is becoming easier and easier to compare ourselves to the people around us. People post the highlights of their life on social media and we think they must be doing so much better, more in shape, wealthier, and the list goes on. God doesn’t compare us to each other. He created us to be unique. So much so that he made every person with a completely different set of fingerprints!

If God isn’t comparing me to someone else then the big question

is: Why am I?

Comparing yourself to someone else might make you better at imitating them, but it won’t make you any better at becoming all that God has created you to be.

PRAY:

Jesus, forgive me for comparing myself to others. Thank you for making me unique and for setting me apart. Today I refuse to compare myself and choose to be completely me! Amen.

Day Ten – In Season

10/21 Days of Prayer & Fasting

READ:

Galatians 6:9 (NKJV)

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

We are about half way into this 21 day journey. It’s usually in the middle that we have the hardest time holding on to our faith. We sometimes start to waiver in what we’ve been asking God for. The Bible tells us that there are seasons that we will reap if we don’t give up.

That’s the key, though: don’t give up!

I think a lot of people walk away from what they’ve been asking God for right before they see the breakthrough. Remember that there is a season for your miracle. I believe that it’s on it’s way! Keep standing and believing. Don’t quit!

PRAY:

Jesus, today I continue to stand in faith for what I’ve been asking you for! I know that what I’ve asked you for is on it’s way and I refuse to give up on my miracle! Amen.
