Matthew 5:14-16 (NIV)
You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
It’s amazing to me that Jesus left the sharing of the gospel message in our hands. He could have used an angel or at least someone more qualified to do the job, but He gave the job to us. We often make it way more complicated than it has to be. You don’t have to stand up on a street corner with a megaphone and preach John 3:16 every day. Most of the time it’s something as simple as an invite to church, a note letting someone know you are praying for them, or a hug to let them know they are loved. We will have people come into church and give their lives to Jesus because our parking lot team at the church waved at them as they were passing by! That’s right, a wave!! My point is, just let your light shine. Share your story, give that hug, pick someone up for church.
We are a light in the darkness.
PRAY:
Jesus, help my light shine today. Put people in my path that need to know about your love, your grace, and your mercy. Give me boldness to share my story and invite others to church. Amen.
